PP Telecommunication Sdn Bhd (“PPTelecom”) wishes to thank the Sarawak Chief Minister, The Right Honorable Datuk Patinggi Dr Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, who attended at and witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) between PPTelecom and Cisco on Thursday 27 September 2018, and between PPTelecom and PCCW Global on Friday 28 September 2018.
Cisco is a recognised global leader in data center technology. The MOU is regarding PPTelecom’s business collaboration with Cisco to accelerate and develop a Mega Data Center (MDC) Hub in Sarawak by utilizing the strategic advantages of Sarawak, namely Sarawak’s abundant hydropower, safe and stable climate and strategic location in the center of Asia. Cisco also intends to support the development of the Mega Data Center hub’s client base. PPTelecom and the Sarawak Government delegation had very good interactions with the many experts from Cisco during a half-day visit to their headquarters in San Jose, California.
Separately, PPTelecom and PCCW Global signed MOU on possible business collaboration for PPTelecom’s hub in Sarawak leveraging the global infrastructure and the extensive IP network (AS3491) of PCCW Global. Covering more than 3,000 cities and 150 countries, the PCCW Global network supports a portfolio of integrated global communications solutions. PCCW Global is the international operating division of HKT, Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications company majority-owned by PCCW Limited.
Dr. Patrick H.P.
